# BrewMark

> The reference layer for coffee grind settings. Every grinder, every brew method, the actual number on your dial.

BrewMark answers one question precisely: "a recipe says medium-fine, so what number do I set on *my* grinder?" Every grinder in the catalog is mapped onto a shared 0-100 grind index using five measured reference points — espresso, moka, filter, French press, coarse — and the settings between them are interpolated. Conical burr dials are fitted with a monotone cubic spline because their scales are not linear; flat burrs interpolate linearly.

This means a "medium-fine" grind resolves to a real, model-specific number rather than a vague instruction, and a setting on one grinder converts to the equivalent setting on another.

The settings are computed, not scraped, and each grinder page shows the curve they come from.
