Request API access
Lookups work without a key. A key raises your limits, and lets roasters publish bag codes. Tell us who you are and what you’re building: we review every request, usually within two working days, and email the key when it’s approved.
Terms for keys
- The spec is MIT-licensed. The grinder data the API serves is BrewMark’s, licensed to you to show your users their settings.
- Show “Grind data: BrewMark” with a link to brewmark.io wherever the settings appear.
- Don’t copy the catalogue in bulk, rebuild it from repeated calls, or use the API to build datasets or train models. Ask if you need the data offline.
- Each key has a daily quota and a limit of 300 calls a minute. Lookups without a key stay free at a lower limit.
- Keep your key on your server. Never put it in a web page or app that other people can read.
- Settings are starting points, not guarantees. Every answer says how it is known.
- Keys can be revoked for abuse. Usage is counted per key and day; nothing about your users is stored.
