Terms of Service

Effective March 12, 2026

Agreement

By accessing or using BrewMark — including the website at brewmark.io and the BrewMark iOS app — you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.

The Service

BrewMark is a coffee brewing platform that helps brewers find recipes, track their brews, and dial in their extraction. We also provide tools for roasters to publish and distribute brew recipes for their coffees.

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. We’ll make reasonable efforts to notify you of significant changes.

Your Account

You need an account to use most features. When you create one:

  • You must provide a valid email address
  • You’re responsible for activity under your account
  • You must be at least 13 years old
  • One account per person — no shared or automated accounts

We authenticate via magic link (passwordless email). Keep your email account secure, as it’s the key to your BrewMark account.

Your Content

You retain ownership of content you create on BrewMark — brew logs, recipes, tasting notes, comments, ratings, and profile information. By posting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and store it as needed to operate the service.

For roasters: recipes you publish are publicly accessible by design. You can unpublish or modify them at any time through your dashboard.

Acceptable Use

Don’t use BrewMark to:

  • Violate any laws or regulations
  • Impersonate another person or roastery
  • Scrape, crawl, or harvest data in bulk without permission
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service
  • Upload malicious code or attempt to access other users’ accounts
  • Publish misleading or fraudulent roaster or recipe information

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Roaster Profiles

Roaster profiles on BrewMark may be created from public information. If you’re the owner of a roastery, you can claim your profile to manage it directly. Claiming requires email verification with a domain matching your roastery’s website.

Unclaimed profiles display publicly available information only. We reserve the right to remove or correct inaccurate information.

Intellectual Property

The BrewMark name, logo, design system, and original content are our property. The underlying algorithms — grind index normalization, taste vector matching, recipe ranking — are proprietary.

We respect intellectual property. If you believe content on BrewMark infringes your rights, contact us at legal@brewmark.io.

Disclaimers

BrewMark is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. Brew recipes are recommendations — results vary with equipment, water quality, bean freshness, and technique. We’re not responsible for suboptimal coffee.

We don’t guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We do our best, but we’re a small team running edge infrastructure — occasional hiccups happen.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BrewMark’s liability to you for any claims arising from use of the service is limited to the amount you’ve paid us in the past 12 months (which, for free-tier users, is zero).

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages — including but not limited to lost data, lost profits, or bad coffee.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or via email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of the state where BrewMark operates.
