How we picked
This list is the BrewMark grinder finder's ranking, unchanged. Only electric grinders with a published source calling them quiet make it; the source is under each one. Any hand grinder is quieter still, so if noise is all that matters, grind by hand. For espresso, the finder leaves out grinders that cannot grind fine enough, then scores how finely the rest adjust for dialing in a shot, weighted above how widely each is owned. Price is a filter, not a score: ties go to the cheaper grinder, and shop links never change the order.
The grind-quality and popularity ratings are editorial judgements drawn from makers’ specs and published reviews, listed in each buying guide. BrewMark has not tested these grinders in person.
