Eureka Mignon Silenzio vs Eureka Mignon Specialita
Two Eureka models whose numbers do not mean the same thing. Both turn 0–24 rotations — and the same number is not the same grind.

Which to buy
Choose the
Mignon Silenzio if you…
- want simple controls — manual and timer dosing, started by a microswitch on the portafilter
- want the same 55 mm burrs, 310 W motor and 300 g hopper without the touch display
Choose the
Mignon Specialita if you…
- want a touch display with two timed doses plus continuous
- want a dose counter and an Extra Dose function
Eureka now lists it as the Mignon Silenzio 55, with 55 mm burrs.

The same number means different things
Both grinders use a rotations, which makes it tempting to copy a number straight across. Setting 12.0 rotations sits at grind index 74.3 on the Mignon Silenzio but 74.3 on the Mignon Specialita — close, but worth checking.
Converting a setting
If a recipe quotes a setting for one of these grinders, read across for the equivalent on the other. Rows are spaced evenly by grind size, not by dial number — on a conical burr those are not the same thing.

The shape of each dial
Where the connectors bunch, that grinder’s dial is compressed and single steps count for more. Comparing the two shapes tells you which gives finer control, and where.

Eureka Mignon Specialita
Dialing in the Mignon Silenzio
The Silenzio is the quieter Mignon, sharing the micrometric stepless adjustment that makes small movements meaningful at the fine end. Built for espresso; filter is possible at the far edge of the dial.
Dialing in the Mignon Specialita
A stepless espresso grinder first, everything else second. The micrometric adjustment means small movements do real work at the fine end, and the settings below should be read as starting positions rather than detents. It will grind for filter and does it competently, but you are working at the far edge of a dial designed for a different job.
