BrewMark’s notes

Most advice online is written for light specialty roasts and actively makes a dark roast worse. Darker beans are more soluble and more brittle, so they over-extract easily: drop the temperature, go coarser, and finish sooner. If your usual bag tastes burnt, this is the recipe to try first.
