The method

  1. 0:00Rinse the filter, add grounds, level the bed
  2. 0:00Bloom with twice the dose, then swirl until no dry grounds remain60g
  3. 0:45Pour steadily to 60% of total weight over 30 seconds300g
  4. 1:15Pour more gently to full weight over 30 seconds500g
  5. 1:45Stir once each way, then swirl the brewer to flatten the bed
  6. 3:30Drawdown complete — aim for roughly 3:30 total

BrewMark’s notes

The swirl after the bloom is the part most people skip, and it is the part that matters — it clears dry pockets that would otherwise under-extract. If drawdown runs past 4:00, go coarser before you change anything else.
