The same number means different things

Dialing in the JX-Pro
External adjustment makes this the easiest hand grinder to actually dial, because you can count clicks without disassembling anything. Its filter range is generous, which is a mixed blessing — small click changes do less than you expect at the coarse end and more than you expect near espresso. Move in larger jumps for French press, single clicks for anything under filter.
Dialing in the M47 Phoenix
The Phoenix is the more affordable M47 with the same burr set and grind character in a simpler body. Dial behaviour matches the Classic closely enough that notes transfer between them.
